Summer season Camps

Does your child love the nice outdoors? Nestled in an remoted, idyllic valley by Big Mary's Creek within the Blue Ridge Mountains of Rockbridge County, Nature Camp is founded on the precept that nobody can be anticipated to save lots of the world who does not care concerning the world, and nobody could be anticipated to care about the pure world who does not learn about and understand it.

I choose to spend a while on the Nature Center on daily basis. Each camp includes indoor and outdoor actions to swimsuit all ages and interests. Tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Rockbridge County, Nature Camp is a two-week summer time camp devoted to experiential environmental education. With discipline teams of 10-12 campers with each grownup Naturalist and teenage Junior Naturalist, campers have a greater expertise and type closer bonds. Junior Campers (Ages 7 to 9): Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are presently not accepting purposes for the Summer 2020 Nature Camp. Safety policies as they relate to COVID-19 would be the same as outlined in the Summer Nature Camp Replace II (beneath), together with the headcount of 10 campers.

Because of COVID-19, we'll reach 90% fewer campers in 2020. The preschool and kindergarten sessions is not going to be occurring field journeys and will spend their week enjoying all that Magnuson Park has to supply. Campers will hold, catch and analyze organisms and we'll play varied water games utilizing water balloons and buckets, make mud pies and explore muddy creeks.

Our nature camp capitalizes on our expertise and enthusiasm for educating children about the outside world. In week certainly one of two water-centered weeks, campers will explore ponds, streams, creeks and seashores to study waterways, adaptation, eutrophication and succession.
